Lake Okeechobee Regional Plan

Florida's Lake Okeechobee is the critical water supply for agriculture, urban uses, and Everglades restoration. This regional plan for sustainable tourism, development, and conservation covered 2450 square miles in five counties around the lake. It features interconnected trails, roads and water routes, a reinforcement of the traditional towns and preservation of working and natural landscapes. The plan also helped establish a new “market position” for the region, focusing on ecotourism and sustainability.
